Aberdeenshire

The county of Aberdeenshire is located on the East Coast of Scotland and it is generally considered by many people to be one of the most outstanding natural beauty spots in Scotland . The Ythan Estuary is a nature reserve located in the county and it is home to a huge variety of wildlife. It as a favourite spot for bird watchers and many enthusiastic birdwatchers flock to the county of Aberdeen and this unique estuary every year to try and catch a glimpse of some rare birds.

Another popular attraction in Aberdeenshire is Balmoral castle, a Royal residence that is still frequented by members of the Royal family especially during the summer months. When members of the Royal family are not in residence the castle is sometimes opened up to visitors and members of the public who can take a guide tour around the buildings and grounds. Many people who visit Aberdeenshire will be interested in taking a trip to see Balmoral.

There are many other castles in and around Aberdeenshire, although many of them now lie in ruins. They are still popular tourist attractions and many of these castles have a very rich and colourful history. Those of you who have an interest in history will not be disappointed by the various historical sites and locations around Aberdeenshire. These castles are also popular with amateur photographs as their location can often allow them to become the subject of some particularly dramatic photographs.
